Getting started
Welcome to Data Board — an engineering delivery + capacity workspace for plant and mechatronics teams.
Built for eng/ops teams (roughly 10–80 people) who juggle too many parallel jobs and need a clearer picture of who’s on what and what’s left.
Free during beta. Pricing comes later.

2. Set up your first workspace
Keep the first setup small so the team actually uses it.
- Name the workspace after the plant, program, or eng group (e.g. “Assembly cell projects”, “Mechatronics eng”).
- Invite 2–5 people who live in the parallel-job mess every day (project leads, planners, shop-floor eng leads) — not the whole company on day one.
- Agree on one active program you’ll track together for the first two weeks.
3. Capture work that is already running
Don’t start with a perfect process. Start with reality.
- Add the jobs / projects that are already in flight.
- For each: owner, status, and a rough capacity signal (are we overloaded / ok / have room?).
- Link related tasks only where it reduces status chase — skip ceremony.
Goal: one shared board instead of Slack threads + spreadsheets + “who’s on what?”.
4. Run the weekly rhythm
A simple loop beats a complex system:
- Monday (or shift start): review capacity vs committed work.
- Mid-week: update blockers and ownership — no status theatre.
- End of week: what finished, what slipped, what we should not take next.
If something isn’t updated, treat that as a signal — not a failure of the tool.
5. Invite the rest of the team
When the core group trusts the board:
- Invite remaining eng/ops who touch delivery or capacity decisions.
- Keep one source of truth: if it’s not on the board, it isn’t planned capacity.
